"I loved to debate and solve real world problems in a simulation. I also liked meeting with the spokesperson for UNHCR. I became more interested in civics after this experience. I want to take international relations as a minor in college" - 2020 Delegate

"My favorite part was learning about issues in other countries, and brainstorming potential ways to fix them. I also really enjoyed listening to the guest speaker. We got to hear the realities of what it's like to work with IDP's, and the stories of those who have unfortunately been affected by the issue" -2020 Delegate

“It was fun and eye-opening to think from the perspective of a nation vastly different from the U.S.A. It was fun to study the debate process and international relations based on location, political position, and stances on different topics.” – '15 Delegate

“It’s a good opportunity for those who like (or want practice with) public speaking. Or people who like to try and solve international problems.” – '10 Delegate

“Model UN is full of engaging students that want to be involved.  By understanding how the United Nations works, these students are able to realize that world wide events can effect them and people all around the globe. This is a fun and eye opening experience for both the high school and Towson University students. In the end, the high school students taught me just as much as I taught them.” –Lauren Cahalan, TU Student

“Model UN was a profoundly positive experience, largely because it has connected me to the greater Baltimore area. Looking back, I feel proud to be a part of a community that fosters such intellectually engaged, energetic, and dedicated students.” -Josh Norris, TU Student

“Everyone who is involved with UN Day learns about a strong work ethic. These students email me late at night with potential statements, want to meet after school, and will give up their weekends to be a part of this event. The harder they work, the harder I want to as well. It is a learning experience for all of us. UN Day is just as much of a benefit for the volunteers as it is for the high school students. Nothing will motivate you to start working harder in your classes than having a younger student ask you such difficult questions you have to take a moment to do some research of your own.” -Savannah Wilhelm, TU Student
